Research Milestone

1989

1989,In collaboration with Dairy Goat Co-operative New Zealand, OEP developed the world's first goat milk powder.
1991,Karihome officially launched the first goat milk formula in the Asian market.
2001,Karihome is the first to conduct clinical trials demonstrating that children fed goat milk formula grow just as healthily as those fed cow milk formula1.
2006,The amino acid bioavailability in goat milk formula is comparable to that of an adjusted whey cow milk formula2, making it a good alternative to whey-enhanced cow milk formulas.
2008,Formulas made with whole goat milk do not require the addition of extra nucleotides3.
2010,Large-scale randomized clinical studies have proven that goat milk-based formulas provide adequate nutrition to support children's growth, similar to cow milk formulas.
2012,DGC's clinical research results prompted the European Commission to amend the directive, allowing the use of goat milk based formulas6.
2013,Compared to cow's milk formula, those fed goat milk formula have higher levels of bifidobacteria in their bodies7.
2018,Goat milk caseins are more easily digested than cow milk caseins, as shown by an in vitro digestion model8.
2019,DGC goat milk formulas contain lower levels of Nε-carboxymethyllysine, a byproduct of the Maillard reaction that can impact protein quality and digestibility9.
2020,DGC goat milk formulas are naturally rich in prebiotics, supporting the growth of beneficial bifidobacteria10.
